Reactivation of study right

Instructions for applying for reactivation of the study right.

Applying for reactivation of the study right and the application processing fee

Did you fail to register in time? Are you in passive register?

If you have lost your right to study and wish to be readmitted as a student, you must apply for the reactivation of your study right and pay a processing fee of 50 euros (Government Decree 199/2024).

The reactivation of the study right is applied for in the eForms system using the Reactivation of study right form. The application processing fee must be paid when submitting the application and is non-refundable. The payment is made in EduStore.

A student studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree will have to attach an updated and approved PSP to the application. Note! If you have not yet commenced your studies at the University of Oulu but have failed to register, you do not need to include any attachments with your application. Doctoral students need to check detailed information from UniOGS webpages.

After your right to study has been reactivated, you must register as present for the academic term for which the reactivation has been granted, and you must do so during the official registration period. Otherwise, the decision to reactivate your right to study will lapse.

Note! Apply for reactivation of the right to study only if you still have remaining time to complete your degree. If you no longer have time left to complete your degree, you should not apply for reactivation; instead, you must apply for an extension to your study right. In that case, the reactivation of your study right will be considered as part of the extension application process, and you will be charged only one processing fee. If you are unsure, contact the study services of your faculty before making the payment and submitting the application.
