Panel will consists of four opinionated persons who are working daily for the future of Kainuu. The discussion is moderated by Editor-in-Chief Markus Pirttijoki

19.00 – 20.00 To become a PhD in Kainuu – current PhD thesis research projects introduced

17.00-19.00 Children’s workshops – science and hands-on activities for children.
                               Children younger than school age only when accompanied by their parents

  1. How to read and tell a story at the same time, sessions start every 20 minutes
  2. Secret art, children are drawing and painting invisible art that can be inspected by UV light
  3. DIY Lava lamp, nonstop, workshop for making a lava lamp of your own
  4. Studies on light, nonstop, workshop for studying properties of light, optic illusions and learning to inspect items with microscope


In Vuokatti Snowpolis venue is laboratories of Sports Technology Unit in Snowpolis building, ground floor

University of Jyväskylä will organize open doors event in their sport technology laboratory from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • audience will learn how the research of laboratory has benefitted coaching of Nordic skiers, they can test sport equipment and try to shoot in the laboratory with Noptel device developed for training of shooters and biathlon skiers
