Biography

Dr. Sc. (Tech), Ph.D. Marja Matinmikko-Blue is Senior Research Fellow and Project Manager at Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC), University of Oulu. She conducts interdisciplinary research on future mobile communication networks from business, technology and regulatory perspectives. She has led research projects that have demonstrated world's first spectrum sharing trials of Licensed Shared Access (LSA) concept and proposed a novel 5G micro operator concept in close collaboration between academia, industry and regulators.

Currently, she is Research Coordinator of 6G-Enabled Wireless Smart Ecosystem & Society - 6Genesis Flagship. She has published over 120 scientific papers and participated in spectrum regulatory forums in Europe (CEPT) and globally (ITU) including preparation of over 100 contributions and chairmanship of cognitive radio system studies. Her current research interest include mobile communication system design, spectrum sharing techniques, new spectrum valuation and licensing models, and local operator models for 5G networks.
