Basics of University Pedagogy for Doctoral Researchers (multiple courses), Spring 2027

Learning material will be provided during the course and in the Moodle workspace.

The course consists of four seminars which are activity- and discussion-based and include also independent work. In addition, the participant writes a reflective learning diary. To complete the course, the participant must participate in the seminars, write a reflective learning diary based on the seminars and peer-assess another participant's learning diary.

Active teaching methods are used in the seminars. The seminars include both independent and group work. The total course workload is 54h, which includes seminars (16h) and independent work on a learning diary and peer-assessment (38h).

Through active and discussion-based study methods employed, the course promotes the development of participants’ generic skills, such as analytical, critical and creative thinking, communication, interaction and digital skills as well as self-development. As the course is designated for doctoral researchers across various fields and from different cultural backgrounds, the setting also supports the development of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary skills, as well as international and multicultural skills.
