The main contents include:
• Foundations of Next-Generation Search
Neural information retrieval, vector search methods, transformer-based ranking models.
• Large Language Models in Information Retrieval
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and prompt engineering, and their impact on search effectiveness.
• Conversational AI for Search
Conversational IR frameworks, context modeling, and user–system interaction strategies.
• Query Prediction
Query prediction and reformulation techniques, intent prediction, proactive search, and personalization.
• Hands-on Exercises and Group Work
Design of a conversational search prototype, introduction to evaluation metrics and IR benchmarks.
• Student Project Presentations
Implementation, system demonstration, peer feedback, and discussion of open research challenges in next-generation search.
