Our language teachers will help students with questions related to compulsory and optional language studies.

Languages and Communication organizes compulsory languages and communication studies in all faculties. We also offer optional language courses. The available languages are English, Finnish language and communication, Finnish as a second language, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Swedish, and Ukrainian. More languages are available through summer universities.

A representative from the Open University will be present. The open university - in collaboration with the Summer University of Northern Ostrobothnia - organizes language courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
