Hiljaiset Pellot is a moving monologue that takes the audience through tender memories of a love affair between two women in the 1950s. This intimate and atmospheric work tells the story of a passionate yet forbidden love, as well as the fragile cycle of life.
The monologue was written by Suvi Lindholm and directed by Anne Nuojua.

The August After Work concert by the Oulu University Chamber Orchestra features a program of Finnish compositions as well as melodies from around the world. Welcome to enjoy a diverse musical journey and a captivating performance by the chamber orchestra!
The After Work event will be held in the Agora hall on the Linnanmaa campus (nearest door 2T). The event is open to everyone and does not include a ticket fee.
In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to a wider audience. The event includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
The 10th Alvar Aalto Week is celebrated in Oulu between 21-30 August 2026 under the theme Handprints. During the week, visitors can explore the traces Alvar Aalto left in Oulu, along with the stories and meanings embedded in the built environment. The theme is also reflected at the University of Oulu, where a concrete tile, bearing the handprints of Alvar Aalto and Otto-Iivari Meurman, is on display in Agora. The event Arkkitehtuurin peruskivet, which is part of the Alvar Aalto Week program, will take place in Agora starting at 6:00 PM. More information about the event here.
