This time at the Campus as a Stage After Work event, we’ll dive into the world of cinema.

Anime Movie is the fourth feature-length film by Studio Korppikela. Inspired by the world of Japanese animation, the film brings together well-known classic anime characters alongside newer fan favourites. In the film, friends Usagi and Light are swept into another world during a university trip and become separated. Resourceful Usagi assembles a team and sets out on a journey to find her friend. But can Light resist the temptations of the dark side? The film is a fan-made production created through the collaboration of film enthusiasts and cosplayers from Oulu.

Studio Korppikela warmly invites everyone to a preview screening of Anime Movie at the L2 lecture hall, University of Oulu, on Friday, 30 October, at 5:00 p.m. Attendees will be offered Japanese Ramune soft drinks during the event. Access to the campus is through the 2T main entrance.

The event is free of charge and open to everyone. Please note: The film is in Finnish and will be screened without subtitles.

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to a wider audience. The series includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
