Campus as a Stage: Culture Lunches – Samba Rhythms in Kontinkangas

Teekkaritorvet will bring lively samba to the Kontinkangas Cultural Lunch in front of Restaurant Medisiina. Sweet melodies and the clinking of the agogo bells will brighten the day for the people on their lunch break, and the bravest in the audience are also encouraged to take part in a dance-break workout. The idea of the Culture Lunches is to bring cultural experiences to surprising and unexpected situations, such as during rush hour at the lunch restaurant. Several interest societies under the University of Oulu Student Union participate in enriching everyday meal times on our campuses with both music and theater. Check out the exact event times, when and in which restaurant the culture lunch will take place, and head that way for lunch!

In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, the purpose of which is to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to the everyday life of our campuses and to the wider public. The series includes culture lunches, culture lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
