Campus as a Stage: Print, Laser & Decorate workshops

Would you like to make your clothing or accessory truly unique? Welcome to an inspiring workshop where you can experiment with different textile paints and design and print your own decorative pattern onto an item of your choice. You can bring along, for example, a T-shirt, a tote bag, or a cap. There will be a limited number of tote bags available for participants at the workshop.

We will guide you from idea to finished piece, so no prior experience is needed. All you need to bring is a touch of creativity! In the end, you’ll take home a personalized item that, sure to turn heads.

Lasercut your own accessory workshop 3.11. at 12:30-16

Place: KTK114-1 (Linnanmaa campus)

Come and try something different and create your own eye‑catching accessory using technology. In this workshop, you will design and produce an acrylic accessory, such as earrings or a bow tie, using laser cutting, maybe for yourself, or as a gift for someone else.

The workshop combines creativity and modern fabrication techniques. You will design the shape and pattern of your product, which will then be precisely cut into acrylic using a laser.

What you will get to do

• design your own shape or pattern

• learn the basics of laser cutting• work with acrylic to create a finished product

What you will take home

• a unique item designed by you

• a new experience combining technology and design

No prior experience is needed – we will guide you step by step from idea to finished product. Come and create an accessory that won’t go unnoticed – literally!

This workshop series is part of the University of Oulu's Campus as a Stage 2026 culture program. In 2026, the University of Oulu will organize a year-long Campus as a Stage event series, which aims to showcase the broad cultural expertise of our university community and bring culture to everyday life on our campuses and to a wider audience. The series includes cultural lunches, cultural lectures, After Work events, various exhibitions and community art works, and art tours of the university's art collections.
