Early-Stage Drug Discovery Workshop

The Early-Stage Drug Discovery Workshop is a two-day, in-person meeting aimed for all students and researchers interested in drug discovery. The program (pdf) is divided to sessions starting from finding of a small molecule hit compound, followed by synthesis of analogs to establish a robust structure-activity relationship and evaluation of pharmacokinetic properties of the compounds, and ending to lead optimization aiming for a desired efficacy. At the end of the course, there will be a streamed talk addressing academic drug discovery and the established center. The course will also provide a possibility for students, researchers and companies working in the field to network and create new contacts.

The course is organized with a support of the Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme of the University of Oulu graduate school and 0.5 study points will be awarded for active participation.
