Location
In this event, you can explore island's rich traditions, vibrant colors, traditional clothing, Sri Lankan authentic receipes and much more. There will be various games related to Sri Lankan culture and cuisine. In the video corner visitors can watch a short video about SriLankan culture. Many traditional props, pictures and sounds can be seen and heard in this event. It will be a great experience for visitors. Try our traditonal clothing and pose in the photo booth, explore receipts, solve a map puzzle, create name tags in Sinhala, and play a Sri Lankan spices matching game. After participating games the winners get to take home Ceylon tea packets, milk toffees and jaggery. There will be QR codes for more information about Sri Lanka for the visitors who are interested. Welcome to a trip to Sir Lanka!
Please note that the main language of the event is English. The event is organized by volunteer students and staff members from the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences.

The University of Oulu, in collaboration with Oulu University of Applied Sciences, the Student Union of the University of Oulu, and the Student Union of Oulu University of Applied Sciences, is organizing the Festival of Cultures week to celebrate our multicultural community in Oulu and promote cultural awareness. The events of the week are open to everyone interested. We expect all participants to demonstrate respectful behavior and consideration for others. Any kind of discriminatory behavior is not tolerated at our events.
