Info: Decision on a property scenario

The property strategy is a long-term plan that guides the management and development of property, i.e. premises, buildings and plots. Due to the need to renovate the building stock of the Linnanmaa and Kontinkangas campuses, the university is facing the most extensive change in the property portfolio since the establishment of the campuses. During the needs assessment conducted as part of the property strategy work, in which the university community has been extensively involved, three alternative campus scenarios have been identified for the future space needs, and the board is now expected to select one scenario for further development.

The board decided on the selection criteria for the scenario in its email meeting on 5 November 2025. In line with the objectives set in the property strategy, the selection criteria place emphasis on financial considerations, to ensure that as much of the university’s funding as possible can be directed towards its core missions: research and education.
