Additional support for doers and curious individuals

The best starting point for the university community members is the Oulu University Innovation Centre. The Innovation Centre is happy to connect you with other relevant parties and offers free services ranging from brainstorming students' business ideas to coordinating commercialization projects for research, as well as support with funding and protecting IP.

If you're interested in entrepreneurship, startups, or have a business idea, feel free to contact Ville, who is responsible for student entrepreneurship matters. You can reach out via email, LinkedIn, or even by catching him in the hallway, just grab him by the (usually orange) sleeve.

In addition to new ideas and networks, also Proof of Concept (PoC) funding is available for testing and prototyping new ideas. Students can receive up to €5,000 in PoC funding, and researchers up to around €50,000.
