A course to support career planning for doctoral researchers

Are you planning your post doctoral career? Wondering how to stand out in the job market? The course "Future PhD: Designing an expert career" (2 ECTS) provides both theoretical insights and practical tools for career planning, articulating your skills, and job searching.

Why? The course strengthens doctoral researchers’ professional identity and supports them in planning their career paths, regardless of discipline or stage of studies. The course is part of UniOGS’s optional doctoral studies and can be included in the General and Transferable Skills studies.

For whom? The course is designed for doctoral researchers at the University of Oulu from all fields and at all stages of their doctoral studies.

Implementation? The course includes six on-campus meetings as well as flexible independent work between sessions.

Schedule? The course is on-campus during the autumn semester, between November 4 and December 9, 2026. The course is offered online/distance learning during the spring semester.
