Distinguished Investigator Award to Professor Taina Pihlajaniemi
Professor Taina Pihlajaniemi receives the Distinguished Investigator Award from the International Society for Matrix Biology (ISMB).
Professor Pihlajaniemi is awarded for her field-changing discoveries in the composition, structures and functions of non-fibrillar collagens and, particularly, the multiplexins and for her leading national and international role in nurturing new generations of ECM researchers.
ISMB, founded in 1992, is the worldwide association of ECM researchers, with members from all continents and many nations. ISMB sponsors major ECM-related meetings, awards travel grants and specific ECM-related grants, such as the Distinguished Investigator Award.
