Final stages of doctoral thesis - timetables for summer 2026
Proposal of the pre-examiners must be submitted in Eforms-service at latest on June 15, if the pre-examination is to be started in July.
Doctoral researchers, whose public defence is scheduled for 1.7.–3.9.2026 must submit the laid-out manuscript and other required material for their dissertations to Acta’s editorial office no later than June 1. See Acta's announcement here.
Doctoral researchers whose public defence is scheduled earlier than August 14, must submit the information about the dissertation by July 8 through the online form.
Permissions to defend and acceptance of doctoral theses are processed in the meetings of doctoral education committees in June and August (see meeting timetables here). See the doctoral degree graduation days here.
There will be a longer delay on forwarding the pre-examination statements and replying to messages at the Graduate School’s service desk (uniogs@oulu.fi) during July.
