Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY awards Gold Merit Badge to OBS' Timo Pohjosenperä

LOGY – Finland’s largest network of logistics and purchasing professionals – has awarded its Gold Merit Badge to Dr Timo Pohjosenperä, Postdoctoral Researcher at Oulu Business School. The honour recognises Pohjosenperä’s long-standing and impactful contributions to the community, spanning both professional practice and academic research.

Within LOGY, Pohjosenperä has held multiple leadership roles in Northern Finland. He has served on the regional steering group, including as Vice‑Chair (2014–2015) and Chair (2016–2018), and he continues as a member. Nationally, he has been a member of LOGY’s board in 2018–2020 and 2023–2025, serving as Vice‑Chair in 2024.

Beyond LOGY, Pohjosenperä is currently Vice‑Chair of the Finnish Foundation for Logistics Research (LTES). He also holds positions of trust in the Oulu region, including member of the City Logistics Advisory Board (since 2022) and member of the Oulu Region Air Connectivity Advisory Group (since 2022).

An active scholar, teacher and community builder, Pohjosenperä has presented at numerous conferences and published in highly ranked journals and books. He has also helped strengthen the talent pipeline and regional collaboration by organising events in the Oulu area, such as a careers event for students, and by chairing the Northern Logistics Forum, which has grown into Northern Finland’s largest event in the field.
