In Operaatio Ave Maria, science teacher Ryland Grace wakes up on a spacecraft light years from Earth with no memory of how he got there. As his memory gradually returns, he realises he is on humanity’s most important mission: to find a solution to a phenomenon that threatens the Sun’s activity and the future of all life on Earth. The film combines adventure, humour, space exploration and the story of an unexpected friendship. Subtitles in Finnish.
The science fiction-tinged drama film After Us, the Flood highlights an important and timely topic: the state of the environment and the importance of protecting it. At the centre of the story are young student characters who have developed a fusion reactor. They not only offer relatable points of identification, but also remind us that young people are an essential part of solving societal challenges. Subtitles in English.
