Moodi’s End of the Year Full of Activities: Art and Holiday Cheer

Culture House Moodi invites students to join a diverse range of events during the final months of the year. The programme includes art, opportunities to meet other students, and festive holiday activities both on campus and at Moodi. All events are free of charge for students, and everyone is welcome to join.

Art Exhibition: FROM THE DEPTHS TO THE SURFACE

What does the journey from loneliness to connection and hope for the future look like? From the Depths to the Surface, an exhibition featuring artwork created by participants in the Culture Houses of the Sosped Foundation, opens on 5 November at Pikigalleria in Oulu.

The exhibition brings together artwork created by participants from culture houses across Finland. The works explore difficult life experiences, mental health challenges, loneliness, recovery, belonging, and hopes for the future. At the same time, the exhibition invites visitors to view young adults who have experienced mental health challenges from a different perspective: not only as people in need of support, but also as artists, community members, and active contributors.

For many participants, exhibiting their work publicly can also be a meaningful step in their personal journey. "It is incredibly motivating to be recognised as skilled artists and to create opportunities together to showcase our art," says Ellen, a peer instructor at Culture House Virta.

Moodi's Extended Friday

Due to popular demand, Culture House Moodi will be open later than usual. Alongside the regular surplus food meal, you can take part in an art marathon and try out a variety of quick and easy creative activities. The student lounge will also be open throughout the event as usual.

Moodi Campus Glögi Event

Moodi is bringing holiday cheer to the campuses with warm glögi and a chance to get to know the community. Come meet the Moodi team, and enjoy a warm cup of glögi during your study day.

Culture House Moodi is a gathering place for higher education students in Teknologiakylä near the Linnanmaa campus. Students can participate in a wide range of activities, meet other students, or simply spend time in a welcoming shared lounge. All activities are free of charge.
