RESOLVED: Moodle and other services have been updated and restored

Due to a PHP vulnerability, access to Moodle from external networks was temporarily blocked as a precaution. The block was also expanded to other systems. Moodle remained available from the internal network and via a VPN connection.

Update 21.10. at 16:20:

The aim of the measures we take is to protect the services from potential risks before implementing any repair updates. It is therefore a temporary precaution. The downtime is not due to exploitation of the vulnerability or a data breach targeting the services.

According to the manufacturer, the vulnerability-fixing software update will be available on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 5 p.m. The corrected software version will be introduced as soon as possible after its release.

Update 22.10. at 9:23:

The situation is over and all services closed yesterday have been restored in an updated form.

ICT Services will continue to update services that are not on the internet.

The security vulnerability was global in scope and affected services beyond our university.
