Thousands of prospective students visit Linnanmaa on 4-5 November – Expect congestion
The University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) will host Applicant Day at the Linnanmaa campus on 4-5 November 2026, from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. The event gives prospective students the opportunity to explore study options in Oulu and experience student life on campus. Please note that the campus will be particularly busy during the event, especially in the campus restaurants and along Väylä.
More than 500 students and members of staff from the University of Oulu will take part in organising the event. Degree programmes will be presented through information stands, lectures and guided visits to learning facilities. A total of 47 study options from the University of Oulu and 31 from Oamk will be represented.
Over the two days, almost 5,500 young visitors, mainly from Northern Finland and municipalities in the Oulu region, will visit the Linnanmaa campus. The event will also attract visitor groups from across the country.
"The northernmost visitor groups are arriving from Enontekiö, while the southernmost are coming from Espoo and Nurmijärvi," says Elisa Härkönen, Marketing Planner at the University of Oulu.
