University of Oulu joins the Doctoral+ (Tohtori+) collaboration
The Doctoral+ collaboration includes Aalto University, University of Helsinki, University of Eastern Finland, University of Lapland, Hanken School of Economics, University of the Arts Helsinki, University of Turku, University of Vaasa and Åbo Akademi University.
Through the Doctoral+ agreement, doctoral researchers may apply for a fixed-term study right to complete doctoral‑level courses offered by other universities. These studies can be included in the doctoral degree as personal study units with the approval of the principal supervisor. The collaboration enables participation in specialised courses that are essential for one’s research but may not be available at the home university. At the same time, it supports individual study paths and strengthens the expertise of doctoral researchers.
Doctoral+ courses are free of charge for doctoral researchers, and universities do not levy fees for student mobility within the collaboration. The agreement promotes smooth cooperation in doctoral education and expands opportunities for researchers to build study packages that best support their research and professional development.
