University of Oulu ranked 401-600 in THE Impact Rankings

Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 ranks 2,526 universities from 130 countries or territories based on their progress towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The University of Oulu performed best in the goals “Climate Action” (ranked 101-200), “Sustainable Cities and Communities” (ranked 201-300) and “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” (ranked 201-300).

The overall ranking takes into account the three UN Sustainable Development Goals in which the university performs best, as well as the goal “Partnership for the Goals”. The evaluation focuses on the qualitative evidence provided by the university.

The University of Oulu is committed to respond to global challenges with multi- and interdisciplinary expertise. Assessing progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals is one way of evaluating the success of the university's sustainability and responsibility work and planning future actions.
