University of Oulu ranked among the top 500 universities in the world

This year’s ranking included more than 21,000 universities, of which the top 2,000 were ranked. Last year, University of Oulu was ranked 464th.

The Global 2000 university ranking evaluates universities across four areas: education, employability, faculty and research.

The ranking takes into account, among other things, the academic and professional success of alumni relative to the size of the university, as well as major academic distinctions received by faculty members.

In terms of research, the ranking examines the total number of publications, publications in high-quality and highly influential journals, and the number of highly cited research articles.
