Welcome to the Sustainable Development Week 22.-26.9.2025!

This week, the University of Oulu and OYY are celebrating the Sustainable Development Week, which is also part of the national and international Sustainable Development Week. During the week, several events will be organised from both a scientific and practical perspective, and the different dimensions of sustainability will be highlighted. The entire university community is welcome to participate in the events of the Sustainable Development Week.

On Monday in Linnanmaa and on Wednesday in Kontinkangas, it will be possible to discuss climate issues in the form of a Climate Café pop-up, led by project researcher Petr Stepanek. On Tuesday, two separate Fab Lab workshops and a bike maintenance event will be held on the Linnanmaa campus. Wednesday's programme includes a Brown Bag seminar, which examines sustainability from the perspective of different disciplines, as well as an afternoon coffee where you can get to know different sustainability study possibilities. The Sustainability Fair invites visitors on Tuesday in Linnanmaa and on Thursday in Kontinkangas. The week will culminate in the Researchers' Night on Friday.

In addition, as part of the week's programme, the flag will be flown on 25 September on the day of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and at the same time the 10th anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals will be celebrated.
