World’s second Super Fab Lab opens at University of Oulu
On 11.01.2022 Professor Neil Gershenfeld (MIT / Chairman of Fab Foundation Board) and Jukka Riekki (Dean of Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, University of Oulu) inagurated the world's second Super Fab Lab. Ribbon was cut remotely from Boston by Prof. Gershenfeld utilizing a remote-controlled scissor hold by dean Riekki.
Super Fab Lab is an advanced Fab Lab capable of manufacturing standard Fab Lab hardware. University of Oulu’s Super Fab Lab is the result of a collaboration among the university's Workshop (metalworking), the Oulu School of Architecture's Wood Workshop and Fab Lab Oulu.
