Beyond the Limits of Post-Quantum Cryptography

BLimPQC

The project explores quantum-safe cryptography from multiple perspectives. Its work packages cover quantum computing, quantum-safe algorithms and standards, regulatory impacts and opportunities, implementations, and the limitations of quantum-safe cryptography. The University of Oulu leads the work package investigating the practical and theoretical limitations of quantum-safe cryptography.

Project description

The ‘Limits of PQC’ work package of the BLimPQC project studies current quantum-safe cryptographic protocols and their limitations, identifies research gaps in quantum-safe cryptography, and seeks to extend its application to use cases where it has not previously been deployed.

The work package brings together research and industry partners including VTT, Bittium, Ericsson, Icareus, Jutel, SSH Communications Security, University of Helsinki, and Xiphera. Across the wider project, Aalto University participates as a research partner, while the steering group includes Traficom, Digital and Population Data Services Agency, and the Finnish Defence Forces.
