Project description
The project presents methods and prepares a roadmap for the techno-economic utilization of valuable by-product streams. By combining the experimental results with chemical equilibrium calculations and process modeling, technical computation can be used to generate comprehensive estimates of how much the purification technology affects the efficiency of the entire biorefinery production line and to what extent the resulting side streams can be utilized.
Based on the project results, it can be concluded what kind of water is the most functional in each site and how the water that is most economically suitable for that site can be cleaned. As a result, a concept that enhances water reuse in forest biorefineries will be developed in accordance with the Functional water principle and innovative separation technologies will be tested for the project's application areas.
