Oral diseases and temporomandibular disorders are associated with adverse health behaviors, systemic diseases, stress, and sleep disturbances, and may negatively affect quality of life and treatment outcomes. Understanding these associations requires longitudinal research. The Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 (NFBC1966) provides a unique opportunity to investigate the development of oral diseases, TMD, and their risk factors across different stages of life.
