Metabolic-psychiatry epidemiology
I am a doctoral researcher specializing in metabolic psychiatry and epidemiology, with a particular focus on the early-life determinants of eating disorders. My work leverages the rich longitudinal data of the Northern Finland Birth Cohort and register data to identify developmental, metabolic, and psychosocial risk factors that shape vulnerability to disordered eating across the life course.
My broader research interests span mental health, non‑communicable diseases, and cardiometabolic health, grounded in a strong public health perspective. I am especially interested in how metabolic and psychiatric pathways intersect, and how early prevention strategies can reduce the long‑term burden of both mental and physical illness.
