I have 10 years experience as a palliative care nurse in hospices and community settings across England and graduated from the University of Northumbria (UK) with MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Palliative Care) with distinction. As a qualified V300 prescriber I diagnosed, prescribed, treated and managed care of patients with terminal diagnoses.
My specialist area is advanced clinical practice in palliative care nursing and clinical training for students, registered nurses, medical and health professionals.
I am passionate and dedicated to educating and developing nurses' understanding and competence in delivering palliative care, alongside developing innovative ways for students to gain clinical palliative care experiences.
I have a long term vision to meet the WHO objectives for developing palliative care education and research, improving nursing education and the development of future nurses’ competence in palliative care. I am to transform nursing perceptions and practices, ensuring sustainable healthcare delivery and outstanding patient care, creating sustainability, retention of staff and healthcare systems that deliver outstanding patient outcomes in globally.
