Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering
I am a Research Assistant with the Biomimetics and Intelligent Systems Group (BISG) at the University of Oulu. With a BSc in Electrical Engineering, an MSc in Mechatronics Engineering, and an MSc in Business Analytics (CSE), combined with a decade of professional experience in engineering, I have developed a foundation in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex systems. This background has inspired my current academic and research path, which is focused on applying artificial intelligence to solve practical challenges in the medical domain. My current research is centered on the application of artificial intelligence for dental diagnostics. This work involves developing deep learning models for analyzing smartphone-captured images and multimodal dental health risk assessment and explainable AI for dental diagnostics decision support. I am also investigating the development of collaborative intrusion detection systems (CIDS) from a system design perspective.
