Geoinformatics, geography of well-being and health
Heta-Maria Korkala is a doctoral researcher in the Geoinformatics Research Group of the Geography Research Unit. Her doctoral thesis focuses on studying the relationship between geological and geochemical properties of soil and bedrock to memory disorders. The research utilizes a wide variety of spatial data methods as well as geological research methods.
In addition to her research work, she is a teacher in geoinformatics courses.
