Laura Timonen

My research concerns holistic and situational engagement in Higher Education; especially affective engagement and its connection to student retention. Focus groups are HE students and their tutor teachers: I'm interested in the students situational emotions in and outside of learning situations, and the tutor teachers' opportunities in supporting student retention and student success, taking into account the critique towards tutor teaching.

As a university teacher my field is the natural sciences, mainly environmental science.
