I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oulu with over ten years of experience in AI, and ML specializing in personalized systems, digital health, and large language models. My research explores how AI can support informed decisions and improve health, sustainability, and resilience, connecting methodological advances with practical societal and business needs.
Across these areas, I investigate how personalization, explanations, and human–AI collaboration influence trust, behaviour, and decision quality. My interdisciplinary approach combines machine learning, social network analysis, behavioural modelling, and user-centred evaluation to develop transparent and responsible AI systems.
My current work spans three interconnected areas: health- and sustainability-aware food recommender systems that balance user preferences with long-term well-being; conversational AI and large language models for personalized nutrition and behaviour change; and AI-supported digital twins for environmental decision-making in Digital Waters (DIWA) Flagship.
I have led and contributed to collaborative projects involving academic institutions, industry partners, and international initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Beyond research, I contribute to the AI for Good community by co-organizing international workshops on responsible AI, digital nudging, behaviour change, and the evaluation of AI interventions.
