MINOO

I am a doctoral researcher at the Environmental and Chemical Engineering Unit at the University of Oulu, researching advanced recovery technologies for rare earth elements (REEs) within the REMHub project, an EU-funded initiative bringing together 24 partners across five countries to advance excellence in REE and magnet technologies.

My research develops an integrated process for sustainable REE recovery from ore concentrates, combining chemical pre-treatment and acid leaching with membrane-based separation. With expertise spanning hydrometallurgical processing and separation science, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to addressing critical challenges in raw material supply.

Through REMHub, I actively contribute to the development and piloting of scalable technologies for REE extraction from both primary ores and industrial side streams. This work directly supports the EU's circular economy objectives and Re-X strategies, recycling, reuse, refurbishment, and repurposing, to strengthen material security and sustainability in Europe.
