I am an extensively skilled researcher in the field of behavioural neuroscience.

I joined the University of Oulu as part of the novel Data4Healthcare postdoctoral programme, co-funded by the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie-Action (MSCA) COFUND of the European Union (EU) funding programme Horizon Europe .

Under the theme, "Data as new resources in the society", my research interests include elucidating the complex mechanisms and risk factors underlying neurological conditions, with a particular focus on their dynamic interplay with the glymphatic system. I propose using big data analysis at a population level (NFBC1966 data set) with an aim to determine the earliest stage a person may present a future risk of disease. A main area of interest is how early Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders can be detected.

Previous positions have taken me from basic pharmacology and cell biology, through behavioural neuroscience in utilizing and establishing complex in vivo models of brain disorders. I have leadership experience managing research projects and group laboratories. My teaching merits include extensive pedagogical training, student supervision and delivering and developing teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level (BSc Hons, MSc and PhD students). I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
