Priyanka Jain

My research focuses on the surface chemistry of aerosols using synchrotron radiation to gain direct molecular-level insights into particle composition and interfacial processes. In addition, I have expertise in studying the role of aerosol particles in atmospheric chemistry, with particular emphasis on the aqueous-phase degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by inorganic radicals, leading to secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation.

My expertise involves measuring reaction kinetics and deriving their activation parameters, characterizing products as well as elucidating reaction mechanisms during photooxidation processes. I also develop chromatographic methods (GC/MS, GC-FID, LC/MS) to analyze the aerosol compounds. Furthermore, I optimize the structure–activity relationship (SAR) model to predict the rate coefficient values, which provide critical links between atmospheric reactivity and environmental fate.
