Raul Mollehuara Canales

Geoscience Researcher with expertise in near-surface geophysics, hydrogeology and geochemistry applied to mine water, mine waste and mine rehabilitation/closure.

Raul holds a PhD in Mining Engineering and Mineral Processing (Applied Geophysics), MSc in Water Resources Management (Hydrogeology), PEng in Chemical Engineering, and 20 years of industry experience. He joined Oulu Mining School in 2017 through the Marie S. Curie I4Future doctoral programme.

Research interests

  • His research interest includes multi-source data fusion integrating earth observation, remote sensing, and ground-based geophysics,
  • focus on mining waste as a secondary resource of minerals/metals and sustainable management of mine water, mine waste and post-closure mining environments.
