Timo Liimatainen received his M.Sc. (2003) and Ph.D. (2007) degrees in Medical Physics at University of Kuopio, Kuopio, Finland. After Ph.D, he was a post doc reseacher at Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, University of Minnesota, USA. He returned back to Kuopio 2009 and started cardiac magnetic resonance imaging at A.I.Virtanen Institute as senior researcher. He got Adjunct professorship 2011 and medical physicist qualification 2017. Currently he is a group leader at MIPT, Oulu, FInland. His research interests include development of magnetic resonance imaging methods and applications to cardiac imaging.
