Academic year consists of two terms:

• Autumn term: 1.8.–31.12.
• Spring term: 1.1.–31.7.

During academic year 2023–2024 the following teaching periods are followed at the University of Oulu.

• 1. period: weeks 34–43 (21.8.–29.10.2023)​
• 2. period: weeks 44–52 (30.10.–31.12.2023)​
• 3. period: weeks 1–10 (1.1.–10.3.2024)​
• 4. period: weeks 11–18 (11.3.–5.5.2024)​
• 5. period: weeks 19–31 (6.5.–31.7.2024)​
