Biography

Ass. Prof. Järvenoja’s research interest is in the field of self-regulated learning, particularly motivation and emotion and their regulation in individual and social levels, socially shared regulation processes in collaborative learning, technology enhanced learning and supporting regulation of learning with technological tools. She has published in international refereed journals and is actively involved in international research networks, such as European Association for Learning and Instruction (EARLI). Currently, Järvenoja is leading a Finnish Academy funded four-year research project to study elementary school students’ emotion regulation in collaborative learning situations (EmReg). Alongside with research focused projects, Järvenoja is PI in projects in which the newest research-based knowledge on learning is put into a practice; i.e. in EU funded Erasmus+ project  SLIDEshow aims to Showcase how Self-regulated Learning can be Implemented Education and in TunTuVa project aiming to support understanding of the role of emotion regulation in early childhood education funded by Finnish National Agency for Education.
