Biography

Kalle Kananoja is a historian of Africa and the Atlantic world. His current research focuses on medicine and biopolitics in northern Namibia and southern Angola in the twentieth century. He has published on Angolan and Afro-Brazilian cultural and social history, and his monograph, Healing Knowledge in Atlantic Africa, is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press.
