Pekka Pirinen (S’97-M’06-SM’09) received Master of Science, Licentiate of Science, and Doctor of Science in Technology degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland, in 1995, 1998, and 2006, respectively. Since 1994 he has been with the Telecommunication Laboratory and since 1995 with the Centre for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu, working in various European and national wireless communications research projects. Currently he is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oulu. His research interests cover 5G and beyond networks.
