Biography

I did my PhD at the University of Jyväskylä (2007-2011) in the group of Prof. Jari Ylänne, focusing on the structural studies of the actin-binding protein filamin. In 2011, I joined the group of Prof. Petri Kursula at the University of Oulu and started to work with myelin-specific proteins. In 2014-2018, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher of the Academy of Finland and investigated the structure and organization of myelin-specific integral membrane proteins. Recently, we got interested in the molecular pathomechanisms of myelin-related disorders, such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy and multiple sclerosis.
