Biography

Dr. Casula earned his Ph.D. in Medical Physics in 2016 from the University of Oulu. He is a specialized medical physicist and his academic qualifications include a master's degree in Physics with major in Astrophysics. Previously, he worked as an astronomer, discovering several minor planets, and in medical radiation protection research. His current research focus is on magnetic resonance imaging of cartilage, bone and meniscus and implementation of imaging biomarkers for musculoskeletal disorders, particularly for the diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee joint.
