Number of participants: 25. The course is targeted to doctoral researchers in TNS-DP. Doctoral researchers from other programmes can also apply. The selection will be based on the order of registration.
Pre-reading is required. This will be available on the Moodle workspace. Access to the Moodle workspace requires registration for the implementation.
Education description
The course will offer critical and innovative insights into:
- Participatory research methodologies
- Co-design values and mindset
- Co-design methods, process and tools
- Ethical considerations in co-design research
- Creating collaborative research environments
- Designing inclusive research methodologies to engage marginalised and underrepresented participants
- Using online collaborative research tools
- Planning a co-design method instrument
- Analysing co-designed data
Doctoral researchers will gain knowledge, confidence and competence in selecting and applying genuine co-design as a participatory method in their field of study and relevant to their PhD research topic. After completing this course students will be able to:
- Deeply understand co-design as a research methodology to include people who are traditionally marginalised or underrepresented in research.
- Critically evaluate and justify co-design as a creative form of participatory research methodology.
- Apply co-design as a methodology that can be used for difficult, multidimensional problems that need to consider the experiences, needs and interests of a range of people.
- Use collaborative online technology such as MIRO to design a co-design research instrument.
