From doctoral studies in biosciences to working life: Working life skills and networks

The aim of the course is to increase interaction between non-academic working life and doctoral researchers, broadening their understanding of career opportunities outside academia. After the course students will be able to:
- recognize their own competences and reflect on their developmental needs
- market themselves as professionals in job markets outside academia
- develop their networking skills and grow their professional networks

Generic skills covered during the course:
- Well-being, and self-development skills: Student will be able to set professional goals and plan their career
- International and multicultural skills: Student will be able to build and utilise global networks
- Communication, interaction and digital skills: Student will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders beyond academia about their own competencies

- Contact teaching and workshops (6h) as well as self-study/homework
- Learning material, assignments and discussion tasks in Moodle

To pass the course, the student is expected to participate to the workshops and the networking event and to complete the assignments on the course
