Education description
Modern systems thinking and interdisciplinarity are a result of the latter half of the last century. The course illustrates how various disciplines are converging on similar ideas, although their terminology often differs. The course breaks down barriers between disciplines, thereby enhancing our creativity in daily work and enabling us to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to solve the most complex problems of our time.
This course provides a unique opportunity to meet students from diverse disciplines in person. We prefer contact teaching because learning is more effective in this format. We have 13 teachers from different faculties. We use discussion questions to spark conversation and learning diaries to strengthen reflections related to our own work. We do not record the lectures to encourage discussions. Learning is a social event. Productivity growth, so desperately needed in a modern society, comes from technological innovations. The greater the interconnectedness among individuals, among learners and their teachers, the faster the rate of cumulative cultural evolution. Innovations emerge when people from diverse backgrounds meet by chance and discuss interesting problems.
Quotes from participants of previous courses:

"It helped me see how different disciplines connect through shared patterns to solve complex problems."
"The course provides a good overview of systems thinking in several disciplines. Useful for research, but you don't necessarily need to be a researcher to understand the content."
"After years of applying systems thinking intuitively in industry, this course finally gave me the epistemological backbone I was missing."
"Clear definitions, rigorous frameworks, and a roadmap of resources so I can keep sharpening my practice."
